Adam Khoo Learning Centre (ALKC) holds a genuine belief that all children are naturally good learners and can therefore achieve great things. It is a leading learning centre in the region with over 5,000 students attending the English, Maths, Science, Chinese and Junior Mastery™ classes in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam.

Recent studies in accelerated learning and neuro-linguistics programming show that people have, though similar potential, different learning preferences. As such, the traditional methodologies of instructions as well as the carrot-stick approach adopted might not be very effective. Some even resist this approach and end up being totally unmotivated.

Established in 2006 by Adam Khoo, best known for his trek up Mount Everest, AKLC is committed to equip every child with the right tools that can unleash his or her full potential. Since it’s founding, the centre has a proud tradition of not cherry-picking students based on their current results. 1 of out of every 2 students score A/A* for their PSLE.

The core of AKLC is rooted in the values of “Learning Beyond Classroom” and “Inspiring Beyond Results”. To date, the centre has inspired more than 20,500 students and 37 organisations through our unique range of inspirational and dynamic programmes on English and Chinese Language, Maths, Science, Program Coding and Robotics classes using accelerated learning, whole brain integration and multi-sensory approach.

Adam Khoo Learning Centre’s mastery enrichment programmes are designed to help students develop the motivation, confidence and effective learning skills. The aim is to re-stimulate their minds and help them relearn learning by breaking old patterns. These are the principles behind the four trademark programmes that make AKLC stand out from other enrichment centres.

• Maths Mastery™ Programme

It uses the Arrow Transfer Model and Socratic Questioning and a revolutionary whole-brain integration learning system called H.E.I.R – “HOOK”, “EXPLORE”, “INQUIRE” and “REINFORCE and REFLECT” LEARNING MODEL”. It promises to help students solve Maths problems in 3-5 steps, eliminate careless mistakes and create a smoother transition from primary to secondary school.

• English Mastery™ Programme

Developed by English expert Dr Cheah Yi Mee, students learn more than 8 core reading strategies. Students of this programme gain better comprehension, develop better creative writing skills, broaden their vocabulary and discover various thinking tools.

• Science Mastery™ Programme

This is an experiential learning programme designed for P3-P6 students preparing for the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE). It incorporates engaging videos and interactive activities to develop the students’ critical reasoning skills and reinforce learning points from each lesson.

• Chinese Mastery™ Programme

Instead of using the “drilling” approach”, students gain a better understanding of how to read and write Chinese through various reading and writing strategies. The aim is for the student to develop confidence using the Chinese language while ensuring effective and critical comprehension.

Many students who have joined the centre’s workshops have testified of the motivational lessons they have learned not just for school work but in handling other stresses in life. It’s common for the centre’s graduates come back as teen coaches during school holidays inspired to mentor their juniors and guide them through their learning journey.
