Founded in 1993, Cambridge prepares children to be future-ready in fun and age-appropriate ways. It focuses on the ability to innovate, problem-solve and think creatively and critically – uniquely human skills that are not easily replaceable by robots.
At the core of its philosophy is iSTEAM (Innovation, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). Embracing the philosophy of “thinking with hands”, it combines hands-on inquiry with open-ended exploration of interesting topics.
- English Language & Literacy
It’s not just about teaching children to read and write. With a literacy-rich environment, children integrate listening, speaking, reading and writing into their everyday activities. They learn to enjoy books, build their vocabulary, do creative writing and articulate their thoughts in front of an audience.
- Chinese Language & Literacy (Japanese is available at Cambridge Robertson)
The Chinese language and literacy curriculum develops each child’s skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in the language. It’s also important that our children enjoy the language, develop confidence in using the language and have an appreciation of the Chinese culture.
- Mathematics
Children will have learning experiences in Mathematics skills and reasoning, with opportunities to grasp concepts such as: counting, measurement, comparing using number and word symbols, identifying and creating patterns, and familiarity with Mathematical language, money, and time.
Developing Unique Talents through Multiple Intelligences
Harvard Professor Howard Gardner’s famous Theory of Multiple Intelligences states that every child has eight types of intelligences: namely spatial intelligence, musical intelligence, naturalist intelligence, linguistic intelligence, logical-mathematical intelligence, intra-personal intelligence, interpersonal intelligences and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. In every individual, some intelligences are more dominant than the others.
To develop a child’s unique talents, Cambridge ensures that varied activities exercise these eight intelligences and strengthens his/her dominant intelligences whilst enhancing his/her less-dominant ones to awaken them.
